THE TABASCO® HOT LIST COMPETITION
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
PARTICIPATION
- Information on how to enter the TABASCO Hot List Competition (Competition) and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. By participating, Entrants (as defined below) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Competition is not valid in conjunction with any other special, discount or promotional offer unless indicated otherwise.
- To be eligible to enter the Competition, entrants (Entrants) must:
- be an Australian resident;
- be aged 18 years and over; and
- be a chef (including commis, sous, head, executive, chef de cuisine, etc).
- The following are not eligible to enter the Competition:
- employees (and their immediate families) of Stuart Alexander & Co Pty Ltd (ABN 43 000 058 677) of Level 3, 1 Smail Street, Ultimo, NSW 2007, Australia (Promoter);
- employees of or any individuals associated with a competitor of TABASCO; or
- agencies associated with this Competition.
- The Competition will consist of three rounds (Rounds).
- The Competition period is as set out below (Competition Period).

ENTRY – ROUND 1
- To enter Round 1, Entrants must submit a valid entry during the Round 1 Promotional Period as follows:
- visit https://stuartalexander.com.au/pages/tabasco-hot-list-2024
(Website);
- complete the online entry form located at the Website by providing a response in each of the nominated fields including by:
- filling in a description of a dish (Dish);
- filling in the inspiration for the Dish; and
- uploading a photo of the Dish; and
- submit the fully completed online entry form,
(Round 1 Entry).
- A limit of one (1) Round 1 Entry per Entrant applies.
- All Round 1 Entries must be received by the Promoter during the Round 1 Competition Period. Entries received before the start of the Round 1 Competition Period or after the close of the Round 1 Competition Period will not count towards the Competition and will be regarded as invalid. Records of the Promoter are final and conclusive as to time of receipt. Incomplete, illegible or indecipherable entries will be deemed invalid.
ROUND 1 PRIZE AND WINNER SELECTION
- All valid Round 1 Entries will be judged based on creative merit including the creativity and visual appeal of the Dish. The Promoter reserves the right to select reserve entries and record the reserve entries in order of merit in the event that the original entry (or any subsequent reserve entry) is deemed ineligible, or the winner (or any subsequent reserve) does not claim their prize in the required time in accordance with the instructions provided by the Promoter.
- The top up to eight (8) entries during the Round 1 Competition Period (Round 1 Winner), as determined by the Promoter, will each win the right to participate in Round 2, as well as:
- one (1) ticket to Sydney;
- attendance at a masterclass with Chef Morgan McGlone at a commercial kitchen in Sydney, Australia (Masterclass); and
- if the Round 1 Winner is not ordinarily situated in Sydney, Australia:
- one (1) return economy airfare to Sydney, Australia from an Australian State or Territory; and
- two (2) nights accommodation in Sydney, Australia with check in on Sunday 24 November 2024 and check out on Tuesday 26 November 2024.
- The total prize pool for Round 1 has an estimated value of AU$2000 (based on RRP of each item that has a value).
- Each Round 1 Winner will be contacted by the Promoter via the details provided on the Round 1 Entry on the Round 1 Date and must claim their prize by responding to the Promoter and confirming with the Promoter that they will participate in Round 2 within two (2) working days from the Round 1 Date. The Promoter reserves the right to select additional winners, to be contacted if the original winners do not claim their prize within the two (2) working days or if the original winners advise the Promoter that they cannot participate in Round 2.
- The Round 1 Winners may only use the prize set out in clause 10 for the purpose of participating in Round 2. If Round 1 Winners do not participate in Round 2, they will forfeit the prize.
ROUND 2 PRIZE AND WINNER SELECTION
- Each Round 1 Winner will be eligible to participate in Round 2 on the Round 2 Date at the Masterclass with Chef Morgan McGlone at a commercial kitchen in Sydney, Australia as a Round 2 Entrant. The Promoter will advise the Round 2 Entrants of the location of the commercial kitchen prior to the Round 2 Date.
- To participate in Round 2, Round 2 Entrants must:
- attend the Masterclass with Chef Morgan McGlone at the designated commercial kitchen in Sydney, Australia as a Round 2 Entrant on the Round 2 Date; and
- participate in a mystery cook off at the Masterclass in accordance with clause 16 against each Round 2 Entrant in attendance (Round 2 Cook Off).
- At the Round 2 Cook Off, each Round 2 Entrant will be required to
- cook a dish including the ingredients advised by the Promoter (Ingredients); and
- comply with any other instructions or directions in respect of the Round 2 Cook Off.

The Promotor will advise the Round 2 Entrants of the Ingredients at least 12 hours before the Round 2 Date.
- All valid Round 2 Entrants will be judged by Chef Morgan McGlone and Stuart Alexander team, will be judged based on the overall quality of the dish cooked during the Round 2 Cook Off including its taste, aroma, presentation, visual appeal and the verbal explanation of the dish provided by the Round 2 Entrant.
- The top four (4) Round 2 Entrants at the Round 2 Cook Off, as determined by Chef Morgan McGlone, on the Round 2 Date will win the right to participate in Round 3 (Round 2 Winners).
- Each Round 2 Winner will be contacted by the Promoter on the Round 2 Date and must confirm that they will participate in Round 3 on the Round 2 Date. The Promoter reserves the right to select additional winners, to be contacted if the original winners do not claim their prize on the Round 2 Date or if the original winners advise the Promoter that they cannot participate in Round 3.
ROUND 3 PRIZE AND WINNER SELECTION
- Each Round 2 Winner will be eligible to participate in Round 3 on the Round 3 Date between approximately 12.00pm to 5.00pm at determined commercial kitchen, Sydney (or such other time advised by the Promoter) as a Round 3 Entrant.
- To participate in Round 3, Round 3 Entrants must:
- attend the Kitchen between approximately 12.00pm to 5.00pm (or such other time advised by the Promoter); and
- participate in a three course cook off at the commercial kitchen in accordance with clause 23 against each Round 3 Entrant in attendance at the Kitchen (Round 3 Cook Off).
- At the Round 3 Cook Off, each Round 3 Entrant will be required to:
- cook a three-course meal featuring the TABASCO RED products and at least one other TABASCO SKU; and
- comply with any other instructions or directions in respect of the Round 3 Cook Off.
- All valid Round 3 Entrants will be judged by a panel including the 2024 Hot List Ambassador and industry members (Panel) and will be judged based on the overall quality of the dishes cooked during the Round 3 Cook Off including each dish’s taste, aroma, presentation, visual appeal and the verbal explanation of the dishes provided by the Round 3 Entrant.
- The top one (1) Round 3 Entrant at the Round 3 Cook Off, as determined by the Panel (Round 3 Winner), on the Round 3 Date will:
- be named the winner of the 2024 TABASCO Hot List;
- become the 2025 TABASCO Hot List Ambassador;
- win the following to be used within 12 months from the Round 3 Date during dates agreed between the Round 3 Winner and the Promoter:
- one (1) return business airfare to New Orleans Louisiana, USA from an Australian State or Territory; and
- three (3) nights accommodation in Avery Island, Louisiana, USA,
(USA Trip);
- receive a tour of TABASCO HQ at Avery Island, Louisiana, USA during the USA Trip; and
- be accompanied by Chef Morgan McGlone during the USA Trip to the extent deemed appropriate by Chef Morgan McGlone and the Promoter.
- The total prize for Round 3 has an estimated value of AU$30,000 (based on RRP of each item that has a value).
- The Round 3 Winner will be announced after the Round 3 Cook Off at the commercial kitchen on the Round 3 Date and the Round 3 Winner must claim their prize by entering into an ambassador agreement in the form prescribed by the Promoter (Ambassador Agreement) within 7 days from the Round 3 Date. The Promoter reserves the right to select additional winners, to be contacted if the Round 3 Winner does not claim their prize within the 7 working days of the Round 3 Date or the Round 3 Winner advises the Promoter that they do not wish to accept the prize or that they cannot enter into the Ambassador Agreement.
FUTHER COMMITMENT
- The Round 3 Winner will be required to perform services at the reasonable direction of the Promoter in connection with their role as the 2025 TABASCO Hot List Ambassador on the terms and conditions of the Ambassador Agreement including:
- media commitments including interviews with trade partners and videos for consumer media;
- attendance at TABASCO events including judging the 2025 TABASCO Hot List;
- being available to participate in two (2) kitchen takeovers; and
- any further commitments associated with their role as the 2025 TABASCO Hot Limit Ambassador as specified in the Ambassador Agreement.
GENERAL TERMS
- For the avoidance of doubt, a reference to ‘Entrant’ in these Terms and Conditions is also a reference to Round 2 Entrants and Round 3 Entrants.
- The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and Entrants (including an Entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions, tampered with the entry process or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise fair and proper conduct of the Competition. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The Promoter's legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
- Entrants agree that they are fully responsible for any materials they submit via the Competition including but not limited to comments, recordings, images and recipes (Content). The Promoter shall not be liable in any way for such Content to the full extent permitted by law. The Promoter may remove or decline to publish any Content without notice for any reason whatsoever. Entrants warrant and agree that:
- they will not submit any Content that is unlawful or fraudulent, or that the Promoter may deem in breach of any intellectual property, privacy, publicity or other rights, defamatory, obscene, derogatory, pornographic, sexually inappropriate, violent, abusive, harassing, threatening, objectionable with respect to race, religion, origin or gender, not suitable for children aged under 15, or otherwise unsuitable for publication;
- their Content shall not contain viruses or cause injury or harm to any person or entity;
- they will obtain prior consent from any person or from the owner(s) of any property that appears in their Content;
- they will obtain full prior consent from any person who has jointly created or has any rights in the Content to the uses contemplated by these Terms and Conditions, and the Content does not infringe the rights of any third party;
- they consent to any use of the Content which may otherwise infringe the Content creator’s/creators’ moral rights pursuant to the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) and warrant that they have the full authority to grant these rights; and
- they will comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including without limitation, those governing copyright, content, defamation, privacy, publicity and the access or use of others' computer or communication systems.
Without limiting any other terms herein, the Entrant agrees to indemnify the Promoter for any breach of the above terms.
- As a condition of entering this Competition, each Entrant licenses and grants the Promoter, its affiliates and sub-licensees a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, and sub-licensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish and display their entry (which shall include Content) or any recipe or photograph of a dish made during any Round, for any purpose, including but not limited to future promotional, marketing or publicity purposes, in any media, without compensation, restriction on use, attribution or liability.
- Each Round is a game of skill and chance plays on part in determining the winner.
- The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Each prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash, unless otherwise specified.
- Entrants:
- must behave appropriately, courteously and professionally to all members at any event associated with this Competition including by observing all laws and consuming alcohol responsibly;
- must not in connection with this Competition use any abusive language, hate speech, engage in any hostile behaviour or engage in behaviour that would be considered sexist or racist;
- must not make any statement either orally or in writing or by his conduct act in any way which is likely to cause detriment, damage, injury or loss to the Promoter or TABASCO, or bring the Promoter or the TABASCO into ill-repute;
- must not associate with any competitors of TABASCO; and
- If a prize (or an element of a prize) applicable to any Round is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that element of the prize) with another prize of equal value and/or specification.
- If for any reason a winner of any Round does not claim the prize by the time stipulated by the Promoter, then the prize will be forfeited.
- The Promoter will not, to the fullest extent permitted by law, take any responsibility for the prize being lost and/or sent to an inaccurate/incorrectly provided address.
- The Promoter is not responsible for email, internet, computer hardware and software, phone and/or any other technical errors, malfunctions, and delays that may prevent a person from entering the Competition, or that interfere with a person’s compliance with the rules of the Competition. The Entrant is solely responsible for submitting a valid entry.
- In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster (including but not limited to earthquakes), acts of God, civil unrest, strikes, power failures or any other event beyond the control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition or suspend or modify the prize.
- Entrants consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same), in any media, for an unlimited period and without remuneration, for the purpose of the Competition, promoting this Competition (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.
- If this Competition is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter (including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud), the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to disqualify any Entrant; or (b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition, as appropriate.
- Any cost associated with entering the Competition, accessing the Website, applying for USA visas, transfers to and from Sydney, Australia Airport, or any other costs not included in the Prize offered, for the purpose of this Competition is the Entrant’s responsibility.
- Any documentation associated with the prize is void if lost, stolen, forged, mutilated or tampered with in any way.
- Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act or similar consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia (Non-Excludable Guarantees). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including each of its respective officers, employees and agents) exclude all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Competition.
- Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) shall not be responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or Entrant; or (f) the prize.
- If, due to any reason whatsoever, the Promoter becomes aware after any Round 1 Winner, Round 2 Winner or Round 3 Winner (Winner) is announced as a winner has not complied with these Terms and Conditions, the relevant Winner will have no entitlement to the relevant prize, even if the Promoter has announced them as a winner and the relevant Winner will be required, at the direction of the Promoter, to return, refund or otherwise make restitution of the relevant prize.
- The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the receipt by a Winner of a prize. Independent financial advice should be sought by you. Where the operation of this Competition results for GST purposes, in supplies being made for non-monetary consideration, Entrants agree to follow the Australian Taxation Office’s stated view that where the parties are at arm’s length, goods and services exchanged are of equal GST inclusive market values. All taxes and any other costs related to a prize not specifically stated within these terms are the sole responsibility of the relevant Winner.
- As a condition of accepting a prize, each prize winner, must sign any legal documentation as and in the form required by the Promoter and/or prize suppliers in their absolute discretion, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form.
GENERAL TERMS - TRAVEL PRIZES
- Round 2 and Round 3 prizes are subject to accommodation and flight availability.
- If Round 1 Winners or the Round 3 Winner are, for whatever reason, unable to travel on a nominated date, or do not take an element of the prize within the time stipulated in the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the Round 1 Winner or the Round 3 Winner (as applicable). Cash will not be awarded in lieu of the prize or element of the prize.
- Air tickets are available on the regular scheduled services of each airline and are subject to seasonal embargos. Flight itinerary may have to be adjusted depending on the airlines departure city and their current flight schedule. Frequent Flyer points are not available from any airline.
- A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from Round 1 Winners or the Round 3 Winner at check-in to the relevant accommodation, for all incidental charges. Once accommodation vouchers are issued they are non-changeable.
- It is Round 1 Winners and the Round 3 Winner’s responsibility to ensure that they have valid documentation, including but not limited to valid passports and visas, which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities at every destination. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be the sole responsibility of the Round 1 Winners and the Round 3 Winner.
- The Promoter makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. Travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including government, local consular offices and the web site of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
- Comprehensive insurance, additional options and all ancillary costs (including travel to and from the dealership) are the responsibility of the Round 1 Winners and the Round 3 Winner. Unless expressly stated in these terms and conditions, all other expenses become the responsibility of the Round 1 Winners and the Round 3 Winner.
PRIVACY, GOVERNING LAW & CONTACT INFORMATION
- The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the Competition and may, for this purpose, disclose such personal information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities. Entry is conditional on Entrants providing their personal information. The Promoter will collect, store, use and disclose personal information as set out in its Privacy Policy (you may request a copy of the Privacy Policy by contacting the Promoter at privacy@stalex.com.au). In addition to any use that may be outlined in the Promoter’s Privacy Policy, the Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the personal information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the Entrant. The Privacy Policy also contains information about how Entrants may opt out, access, update or correct their personal information, how Entrants may complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles or any other applicable law and how those complaints will be dealt with. All entries become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter will not disclose entrant’s personal information to any entity outside of Australia.
- The laws in force in New South Wales apply to this Competition to the exclusion of any other law. Entrants submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
